Dewey Arnold pocket rides to victory

Dewey Arnold (Ridge Warren) takes the featured $16,000 Open Trot at Tioga Downs on Saturday (June 14).

Duly Resolved (Tyler Miller) went to the front and led to the quarter in :26.4.  He used a:29.0 second quarter to be first to the half in :55.4.  Purple Lord (Jim Pantaleano) was first to make a move going first-up heading down the backstretch but was just spinning his wheels.  Duly Resolved was first to three-quarters in 1:24.0.

As they reached the stretch Dewey Arnold ($13,00) popped out of the pocket and blew right on by to win in 1:53.3.  Duly Resolved had to settle for second.  Yucatan Party Man (Dan Rawlings) finished third.

Dewey Arnold is a 7-year-old gelding by Deweycheatumnhowe.  He is owned by Phillip Hale and trainer David Dewhurst.  It was his fifth win this season.  He now has 40 career victories.
