Dexter picks up two $59,100 NYSS divisions

Vernon Downs played host to four harness racing divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS).  Two for 3-year-old trotting fillies well as two for the trotting colts & geldings on Memorial Day Monday (May 26).

Royal Mission (Scott Zeron) captures the $58,000 first division of the NYSS for trotting fillies.

Royal Mission ($4.90) grabbed the early lead but Calculus Risk (Frank Affrunti) took over just before hitting the quarter first in :27.4.  Royal Mission took the lead back heading down the backstretch and reached the half first in :57.1.  She remained in control and led to three-quarters in 1:26.1.

As they reached the stretch, second place finisher Sonmar Pond (Brett Beckwith) went all out after the leader but Royal Mission was too strong and won in a lifetime best of 1:54.0.  Calculus Risk finished third.

ROYAL MISSION REPLAY

Royal Mission is a 3-year-old filly by Chapter Seven.  She is owned by Jeffrey Snyder and trained by Marcus Melander.  It was her first win this season.  She now has four career victories.

My Debt Collector (Tyler Buter) wins the $58,000 second division for the NYSS trotting fillies.

Pink Chou Chou (David Miller) led to the quarter in :29.1.  She slowed thing way down using a :30.3 second quarter and led to the half in :59.4.  She was first to three-quarters in 1:28.2.

My Debt Collector ($3.50) made her move in the stretch.  She launched out of the pocket and went right on by to win in 1:55.4.  Pink Chou Chou had to settle for second.  Best Story Ever (Tyler Miller) finished third.

MY DEBT COLLECTOR REPLAY

My Debt Collector is a 3-year-old filly by Chapter Seven.  She was trained by R Nifty Norman for owners Little E LLC, David McDuffee, and Mel Hartman.  It was her third win this season.  She now owns six career victories.

Super Chapter (Dexter Dunn) takes the $59,100 first division for NYSS trotting colts & geldings.

Chat Room (Tyler Buter) was first to the quarter in :29.1.  He used a :29.4 second quarter and led to the half in :59.0.  Super Chapter ($2.90) took command first-over going around the final turn and was first to three-quarters in 1:27.0.

As they made the turn for home second place finisher Monserrate (David Miller) went all out on the chase but Super Chapter won easily in 1:53.3.  Seven Layer (Niko Karna) was third best.

SUPER CHAPTER REPLAY

Super Chapter is a 3-year-old colt by Chapter Seven.  He is owned by Jeff Snyder and Arthur Pronti while trained by Marcus Melander.  He is now one for one in 2025.  He now has six career victories.

Variegated (Dexter Dunn) cruises to easy win in the $59,100 NYSS second division for colts & geldings.

Happy Jack B (Ake Svanstedt) was first to the quarter in :27.3.  Variegated ($3.00) brushed by going down the backstretch and led to the half in :56.3.  He was firmly in command reaching three-quarters in 1:24.2.

As they made the turn for home Variegated just took off and won in a lifetime best of 1:52.3.  Global Sensation (Brett Beckwith) finished a distant second.  Karinchak (Mark MacDonald) grabbed third place money.

Variegated is a 3-year-old colt by Chapter Seven.  He is owned by SRF Stable and trained by Marcus Melander.  It was his second win this season.  He now has four career victories.

VARIEGATED REPLAY

Trainer Marcus Melander won three of the four NYSS races.  Tyler Buter drove four winners on the card.

Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Friday (May 30) with a post time of 5:05 p.m.
