DOVER, Del. —- Velocity Sonja puts a two-race win streak on the line in a $13,000 4&5-Year-Old Mares pace and Flick A Fly, fresh from victory last week, heads an $11,500 Mares pace to highlight the Monday, Feb. 9 harness racing card at Dover Downs. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
With four wins and a close second in her last five races, Velocity Sonja, owned by Megan Deering, faces two other winners last time in Chris White's Fashion Showdown and Corey Callahan, who also has an impressive record of four wins in her last six starts. Ron Pierce drives Brian Gladden's DVC Kolor Me Krazy, a44-1 upsetter last time.
Hidden Land has been second three straight outings and leaves from the rail with Roger Plante driving for Bill Sartin and Mark Salerno. Yanklet Hanover gets a major post position change for driver Tony Morgan and Dave McCaffrey and Z Tam Stables. Corey Callahan pilots Tina and Joe Clark's fancy bred four-year-old Lindysbathinbeauty. Don Reed, George Wagner and Jim Tessmer's Official Version and George Dennis starts from post 9 in the second tier. Completing the lineup are Mark and Brenda Bramble's Dusty Lane Dora, who has two wins in her last three with Ross Wolfenden and Kerry King's Sterling Breeze with Ron Pierce from post 8.
In the $11,500 Mares pace, Van Oterloo Stable's Flick A Fly (Allan Davis), Erika Paradee's Lady's Delight (Wolfenden) John Mogill's Star Keeper (Callahan) and Dan Fran Lady N (Pierce) racing for Bill Lutz, LeBlanc Racing and Count De Money Stable, are all fresh from wins last time out.
Bob Winkelman's Paradise Lost (Jonathan Roberts) has post 1 while the sharp Taylor Rei (Montrell Teague) with three wins and three seconds in her last six, drew the outside. Upset minded Grandview Hanover (George Dennis), owned by Don Reed and George Wager, and Johnny and Kimberley Waite's Alexachase are the other starters.
Monday through Thursday racing begins at 4:30 p.m. Each week, there is no racing on Fridays and Saturdays. Sunday post time is 5:30 p.m.
