Disturbed Hanover goes wire to wire in the slop

Disturbed Hanover (Big Jim) won wire to wire at Bally’s Dover in the $25,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace on Wednesday night.

Harness racing driver Barton Dalious knowing that Disturbed Hanover loves the off going raced her aggressively at the start of the race.

The 1/5 betting favorite Incaseyoudidntknow attempted to take the early lead away from Disturbed Hanover but was forced to settle in the pocket approaching the quarter pole.

Disturbed Hanover was on a mission leading the field of distaff pacing mares past the opening quarter in 27.1

The field remained in single file as Disturbed Hanover splashed to the half 56.4, a 29.3 quarter.

Incaseyoudidntknow vacated the pocket racing 1st over and challenged Disturbed Hanover through the three quarters in 1:25.2 a 28.3 quarter.  Factory Girl remained along the pylons in third but her bid stalled.

At the top of the stretch, Incaseyoudidntknow offered a minor challenge but weakened late.

Disturbed Hanover stormed home to win by a length in 1:53. She paid $12 for the victory.  Disturbed Hanover ( Big Jim)  is owned by the Wiz Kids Stable LLC of Dover, Delaware.  W. Bart Dalious trained and Barton Dalious drove.

Incaseyoudidntknow finished 2nd and Blood Moon A was 3rd.

DISTURBED HANOVER REPLAY

Track Announcer Jack Gallagher celebrated his 80 birthday on Wednesday night. Jack has been a fixture as track announcer at both Bally’s Dover and Harrington Raceway for over 40 years.

In the 56 years of harness racing at Bally’s Dover there have been only 2 track announcers: Lou Krongold the first and Jack Gallagher. Jack has always carried his blue collar work ethic during his tenure as track announcer. He has missed only a handful of assignments through his 40 plus years.

Tim Tetrick scored 7 driving wins over the off going.

Captaincountrystar N attempts to win back to back races in the 10th race $25,000 Open Handicap Pace on Thursday night. His main competition will consist of Adam Twelve who finished 2nd to him last week and an ever dangerous Itsrockandroll A.
