Dlbdelitebrigade N on American tour

Dbldelitebridgade N capitalized on a perfect trip in the Wednesday $36,000 feature harness racing pace at Yonkers Raceway for her second win in a row, and her fourth in as many states since moving the the U.S.

Scott Zeron put the Bettors Delight mare in the pocket as Feelin Red Hot (George Brennan) soared past her into the first turn to take the lead. Feelin Red Hot guided the eight-horse group through the quarter in :27.2, half in :56.1, and three-quarters in 1:24.1. Bolt Of Beauty (Marcus Miller) lurked first-over as they neared the final turn, and Dbldelitebridgade N waited for an opening at the pylons.

Feelin Red Hot left the inside and backed through the field as they entered the stretch, leaving Dbldelitebridage and Bolt Of Beauty to contest the victory. Bolt Of Beauty was in front momentarily, but Dbldelitebrigade unleashed more late speed and powered through to a 1:53 score by a neck. Bolt Of Beauty finished second; Jossie James A (Daniel Dube) was third. The win price was $10.60.

Tom Fanning trains Dbldelitebrigade N, a seven-year-old that was imported from Australia at the end of the 2020 season. She debuted in the United States on Jan. 2 and has won four of 19 starts in the country. All four of the mare’s American victories have been in different states – Jan. 8 at The Meadowlands (NJ), May 9 at Harrah’s Philadelphia (PA), Jul. 25 at Plainridge Racecourse (MA), and Aug. 5 at Yonkers (NY). Anthony Gruppo of Hamburg and Tim Bojarski of Akron (NY) share ownership of the mare that is 19-for-89 lifetime with $159,109 in career earnings.

Zeron led the day’s drivers with four wins on the 12-race card.

Yonkers Raceway will wrap up its week of racing with another 12 contests on Friday, Aug. 6. Action will start at 7:15 p.m. EDT.
