Northfield, Ohio–Harness racing amateur driver Don Sherman bided his time with Dynamic Edge and then rallied the Muscles Mass gelding to a come-from-behind 1:59.3 victory in the $9,200 Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Association trot Sunday night at MGM Northfield Park.
After starting from post nine along the pylons Sherman got away fifth as Francis Lawton sent Go Go George to the lead in the :28.3 first quarter. Lawton kept the pedal to the metal and was in command when his totter tripped the half mile timer in :58.3.
Meanwhile Sherman was content to travel along the pylons following the flow.
Go Go George was still in command when he trotted by the three quarters, but trouble was coming. When they straightened for home Larry Ferrari hustled So Wishful three deep to the lead. But had to brace for Don Sherman and Dynamic Edge who was rallying along the pylons.
They were noses apart when they crossed the finish. It was a rather long photo but when the judges made their decision Dynamic Edge was a nose winner in the 1:59.2 trotted mile. Travelin Swan garnered the show dough for Eddie Miller.
DYNAMIC EDGE REPLAY
Dynamic Edge, an 8-year-old gelding, is owned and trained by Jessica Roegner. He paid $7.60 for the win.
