Grove City, Ohio – It was the Downbytheseaside show at MGM Northfield Park Wednesday (July 19) as his harness racing daughters swept the three $40,000 divisions for two-year-old filly pacers.
In the first division, Heartofthesea with Ronnie Wrenn Jr. took the pocket trip, grabbing the lead on the backstretch and drew away to win by five lengths in 1:53.2. It was the first career win for the Brian Brown trainee. Owned by Country Club Acres, Wingfield Brothers, and David Van Dusen, Heartofthesea has earned $ 24,800 this year. Cruiser Cancelled finished second with Queen B And Me third.
HEARTOFTHESEA REPLAY
Seaside Diva with Chris Page went to the lead after the quarter pole in the second division and cruised to an easy three-length victory in 1:53.0. Trained by Ron Burke, Seaside Diva won for the first time in four starts. Seaside Diva is owned by Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, Knox Services, and Let It Ride Stables. She has earned $62,750 this year.
Rose Run Zoey was second with Sistermarystigmata third.
SEASIDE DIVA REPLAY
In the last division, Flyin Bullets with Brett Miller rallied from fifth around the final turn, shot down the passing lane, and held on to win by a head in 1:54.1. Trained by Clair Umholtz and owned by Umholtz and Kennedy Racing it was the first win in two starts for Flyin Bullets who has earned $25,000 this year.
Fearless Ginger finished second with Sarah Said third.
FLYIN BULLETS REPLAY
Ohio Sires Stakes action continues Saturday at MGM Northfield Park with one division of three-year-old colt pacers. First race post time is 6:00 PM.
Anthony MacDonald and Jason McGinnis teamed up to win two of the four $20,000 divisions of the Buckeye Stallion Series for freshman filly trotters at MGM Northfield Park Wednesday night (July 19). MacDonald drove Purplepeopleater and Sedona Hill to wins.
Midnight Nolan (Uncle Peter) and Kurt Sugg took the lead past the quarter pole in the first division and cruised to a three-length victory in a new lifetime mark of 1:57.1. It was his second win in as many starts. Both wins have been in the Buckeye Stallion Series. Midnight Nolan has earned $20,000 for trainer Dan Walski and owner Walski Stable.
Hips Like Honey finished second with Gabbys Treasure third.
In the second division, Butter N Syrup (Uncle Peter) and Dan Noble took the pocket trip, swung wide around the final turn, and drew away by four lengths to win for the first time in 1:59.1. Butter N Syrup is trained by Miles Wollam and owned by Dark Horse Farm.
Osaka Hall was second with Elisdreamgirl finishing third.
MacDonald won the first of his two BSS races in the third division. He raced Purplepeopleater (What The Hill) to the lead going gate-to-wire winning by three lengths in 1:59.3. McGinnis trains the filly for the ownership group of Thestable Purplepeopleatr and Hutchison Harness.
Grace’s Fashion finished second with It’s A Girl Thing third.
MacDonald and McGinnis won the final division with Sedona Hill (What The Hill). The filly grabbed the lead at the quarter pole and did not look back, winning by a length in 2:00. It was the first win in three starts for Sedona Hill who is owned by Thestable Sedona Hill Group and Hutchison Harness.
Looksgetlonger was second with Volaris third.
Buckeye Stallion Series action continues Thursday (July 20) at Eldorado Scioto Downs with six divisions of freshman colt trotters. First race post time is 5:50 PM.
