Columbus, Ohio – A field of six went behind the harness racing starting gate on Tuesday (June 28) for the $30,000 Dr. Al Gabel Trot Final at Eldorado Scioto Downs.
Bridge To Victory (What The Hill) and driver Tyler Smith crossed the wire first in 1:56. The three-year-old gelding went off as the betting favorite after taking the first two legs of the conditioned mini-series.
Despite drawing the rail, Bridge To Victory stuck to his usual tactics and raced from the middle of the pack. He pulled just passed the half and marched directly to the front. Creatine Star finished second while Ab Brightlight completed the trifecta.
Bridge To Victory has now won half of his six seasonal starts and finished second an additional two times. He has bankrolled $37,925 so far as a sophomore. Conditioned by Jeff Smith, Bridge To Victory is owned by the Ervin Miller Stable, Louis Willinger, and Randy Wilt.
BRIDGE TO VICTORY REPLAY
Three divisions of $15,000 Jay Kaltenbach Trot mini-series also went postward. Purple Aura and Sweet On Pete opened the first leg by equaling the fastest divisions in 1:55.4. The second leg of the conditioned mini-series for 3-year-old fillies will return next week.
