18-1 Dream On A Roll (Roll With Joe) and driver John McDonald captured the $6,500 featured fillies & mares’ harness racing pace at Vernon Downs on Friday (July 7).
Dream On A Roll ($38.40) went straight to the front and led to the quarter in :27.2. She used a :29.4 second quarter to be first to the half in :57.1. Party Queen (Barton Dalious) came first-up going around the final turn. Dream On A Roll led to three-quarters in 1:25.1.
As they made the turn for home everyone had a shot. Second place finisher Party Queen gave it everything she had but the longest shot on the board, Dream On A Roll dug in and won in 1:53.3. Special Olivia (Steeven Genois) finished third.
Dream On A Roll is a 7-year-old mare owned by Todd Santoro and trained by Gary Gibson. It was her third win this season. She now owns 18 career victories.

Barton Dalious and Jimmy Whittemore each had driving triples. Joe Nassimos had a driving-training double. Gibson had a training double.
Live racing returns to Vernon Downs on Saturday (July 8) with a 12-race card matinee featuring the Dr. Harry S Zweig Memorial races plus two divisions of the New York State Sire Stakes (NYSS) for sophomore pacing fillies starting at 12:15 p.m.
