HARRINGTON, DE – Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund 2nd leg harness racing action wrapped up Wednesday (June 19) at Harrington Raceway as six $20,000 divisions of trotters were contested on the 16-race program.
David Hamm and Glenn Phillips’ Marino’s Prize (E L Platinum) and driver Ross Wolfenden) notched a 1:59.4 win in the first filly division over Little Silver and Starfish. The filly recorded a new lifetime best in her 3rd career win for trainer Nick Devita. She paid $3.60 to win.
MARINO’S PRIZE REPLAY
The 2nd male division went to Jane Dunavant’s Pretty Two (Dusty Winner) and driver Carlo Poliseno in 2:00.3 over Jetsam and Leaveminthedust. The gelding overtook Jetsam late and cruised to his 2nd career win for his trainer/driver. He paid $4.20 to win.
PRETTY TWO REPLAY
Nanticoke Racing’s Lg’s Jaxon (Rolls Blue Chip) won the final male division in 2:00.1 for trainer Givens. The gelding notched his 10th lifetime win over Trout Master and Chief Funster. He paid $2.40 to win.
The 2nd filly division saw Gary Rhodes’ Lovie’s Place (E L Platinum) with driver Art Stafford Jr. completed a sweep of her eliminations with a 1:59.1 win over Going Platinum and Platinum Proposal. The filly earned her 4th career win for her trainer/driver. She paid $4.00 to win.
LOVIE’S PLACE REPLAY
The final division on the card went to James Craparotta and Pat Berry Racing’s Daburg (Anders Bluestone) and driver Pat Berry in 1:59.2 over Rip Away and Luvyas Nugget. The filly won her 5th race in her 10th lifetime start with a front-stepping score for trainer Jason Skinner. She paid $2.40 to win.
LG’s Bluestone (Anders Bluestone) won the early non-wagering division in 1:58 for Nanticoke Racing, D T Doane and Andris Kilpa. The gelding, trained by Les Givens, notched his 2nd straight win in elimination action over Royal Beep Beep and Portnoy. It was the fastest division on the evening.
Tlb Racing’s Remarkable De Vie (Charlie De Vie, $3.40, Pat Berry) was a 1:55.2 winner in the $22,500 Free-for-All Trot over Star Razor and Darbyshire. The Traci Berry-trainee recorded his 28thĀ career win in front end fashion.
REMARKABLE DE VIE REPLAY
Prior to the 1stĀ race, Graham Grace Stable’s Call Me Goo (Googoo Gaagaa) visited the Harrington winner’s circle to celebrate her most recent win in in the $170,000 Armbro Flight Stakes at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
The 3-year-old trotting filly is currently ranked 7thĀ in the Hambletonian Society’s top 10 pool of North American horses. Trained by Skinner and joined by his wife Susan, the star filly has won 20 of 28 starts lifetime and is expected to make her next start at the Meadowlands in the Six Pack on June 29.
Live racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule until June 26 (post time 4:30 p.m.).Ā There will be a customary summer break until the Delaware State Fair program on July 25, before the meet resumption on August 12.
