As the saying goes, it was easy as pie for the two-year-old harness racing pacing filly Joyride Hanover as driver Tim Tetrick sent the filly right to the lead in $145,100 Matron Stakes at Dover Downs and she ended up winning in a romp Thursday.
It was a joyride for Tetrick aboard Joyride Hanover as she led to the first-quarter in :27.2 with Galleria Hanover (Yannick Gingras) sitting in second place.
Joyride Hanover led to the half mile in :56 and then A Girl That Twists (Brian Sears) came first-over but could not gait on the leader past the three-quarters in 1:23.2.
Then Joyride Hanover pulled away in the stretch to win by six open lengths in 1:52. Shipnstrol Hanover (David Miller) was second with Frantasy Hanover (Corey Callahan) third.
JOYRIDE HANOVER REPLAY
It was a lifetime mark by over two seconds for Joyride Hanover as the American Ideal filly posted her third win this season. She is trained by R. Nifty Norman for owner Eric Good of Denton, MD. She paid $5.20 to win as the wagering favorite.
āThe race went as we sorta planned,ā Tim Tetrick said. āSheās been chasing the good ones and she deserves to win a Grade 1 Stake. Sheās quick off the car, she settled good today and when we got the second quarter breather, I knew it would be pretty hard to beat her.ā
