Eight $100,000 Commonwealth Finals run and won

Lexington, KY — On Monday (Sept. 15) The Red Mile hosted eight $100,000 finals of the Kentucky Commonwealth Series for freshman and sophomores of both gaits, sexes and ages.

Found kicked the action off in exactly the right way as she collected her fifth consecutive win and completed a series sweep.

Found discovers her best stride in 3-year-old filly pace

Trained by Brett Pelling, Found, a daughter of Always B Miki-Geothermal, proved best in the field of seven and stopped the clock in 1:49.4 as the favorite. Hip Shot (Andrew McCarthy) was second and Aintnothingucando (Dexter Dunn) was third.

With Todd McCarthy holding the lines, the half sibling to 2023 Horse of the Year Confederate (Sweet Lou, $2.07), rated off the pace and came home :26.2 in hand.

The filly competes as a homebred for Diamond Creek Farm. Her record is 14-10-2-1 with a bankroll of $146,200.

Found paid $2.46 to win.

Lindy In My Dreams takes 2-year-old filly trot

Favorite Lindy In My Dreams (Dunn) held off longshot Night French Girl T. McCarthy by a neck in a lifetime best 1:53.2. Rani Hanover (David Miller) came in third.

Trained by Domenico Cecere, the filly is a daughter of Ready For Moni-Lindy In My Dreams and is 5-3-1-0.

Lindy In My Dreams has earned $89,000 in purse money races for Lindy Farms, her breeder.

Inexpressable wins the trophy in freshman male trot

Scott Zeron and Inexpressable annexed the colt’s second win in a lifetime best 1:53. Onassis (Yannick Gingras) followed him home with Requiem (D. Miller) completing the trifecta.

Bred by Menhammar Stuteri Ab, Inexpressable is trained by Lucas Wallin. He is co-owned by his conditioner with Karin Walter-Mommert.

INEXPRESSABLE REPLAY

A son of Walner-Ineffable, the colt’s second dam is world champion Jolene Jolene (Muscle Hill, $231,671).

Inexpressable is 4-2-1-0 and has earned $76,500.

Strangerinthenight snaps Fusion’s win streak in 3-year-old pace

In a stirring stretch drive, Strangerinthenight (Zeron) ended Fusion’s skein of three consecutive triumphs at three. Fusion (T. McCarthy) was second and Delray Beach (Dunn) was third.

STRANGERINTHENIGHT REPLAY

The son of Tall Dark Stranger-Tall Drink Hanover crossed the line in a lifetime best 1:50.2. The colt now possesses a resume of 19-3-2-1 and boosted his bankroll to $123,767.

Trained by Tony Alagna, Strangerinthenight was bred by his trainer, Marvin Katz and Riverview Racing. He is owned by Brittany Farms, Riverview Racing, Steven Head and Pryde Stables.

Strangerinthenight paid $7.28 to those who supported him at the windows.

Blank reigns supreme in 3-year-old male trot

After maintaining some pretty tough competition, Blank (A. McCarthy) found a bit of class relief to his liking and collected his first win from nine starts this season with a new speed badge of 1:51.3. Big Shoes (Gingras) and My Degenerate (Andy Miller) were second and third.

Trained by Marcus Melander, Blank is a son of Gimpanzee-Cover Girl. He is now 20-3-2-5 with more than $308,847 in the bank.

The colt was bred by Diamond Creek Farm and is owned by S R F Stable and Holly Lane Stud East.

Blank paid $9.52 to win as the public’s third choice.

Tactical Moni wins her second straight in sophomore filly trot

With Dunn in the bike, Tactical Moni cruised over the red clay in a new lifetime best of 1:50.3 for Cecere. Best Friends Girl (D. Miller) was second with My Honor (Tim Tetrick) in third.

Bred and owned by Moni Maker Stable, the filly is a daughter of Tactical Landing-All Our Moni.

Tactical Moni improved her record to 9-6-1-0 and her bank account to more than $103,300.

She paid $8.50 to win as the second choice.

Barbuda Belle proves best in 2-year-old filly pace

Gingras and Barbuda Belle outlasted favored Hope Hill (Dunn) in a lifetime best 1:50. Kissin In The Dark and Atlee Bender at odds of 101-1 were in third.

Trained by Ron Burke, Barbuda Belle is a daughter of Cattlewash-Dreamin Girl. The filly was bred by Tara Hills Stud and Bellevue Farms. She is owned by High Stakes Inc. and Nancy MacNevin.

The filly’s record is 8-2-1-0 and she has earned $91,300.

She paid $32.70 to win at odds of 15-1.

Captain Apple provides Dunn with third Commonwealth win

Sent off as the second choice in the field of 10, Captain Apple outfinished Drink To That (Zeron) and Up In Place (Marvin Luna) in a lifetime best 1:50.4. Up In Place was 113-1.

Trained by Chris Ryder, Captain Apple is a son of Captaintreacherous-Apple Hanover. The colt was bred by Let It Ride Stables and J L Benson Stables. He is owned by his trainer, Lisa Ezzo, Alan Johnston and Let It Ride Stables.

Captain Apple is 5-2-0-2 with $72,950 in the bank.

The colt paid $5.72 to win.

Kentucky Sire Stakes Finals conclude on Tuesday (Sept. 16) with the Golden Rod Series. Fans and horsemen can look forward to the Grand Circuit coming to town for its two-week stint. The meet officially concludes on Sunday (Oct. 5.)
