Energetic Hanover (Captaintreacherous) circled the harness racing pack three wide at the top of the stretch and won the Blue Hen/Open Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover on Thursday night.
Sparks were flying early. Mack bullied his way to the top and parked out Sprocket to the opening quarter in a blazing 26 seconds flat. Even odds favorite I Did It Myway left from post eight but was out hustled pacing to the quarter and retreated to 5th along the pylons.
Sprocket’s engines were roaring as he took command after being parked out and passed the half in 54 seconds flat, a 28 flat quarter.
I Did It Myway took up the chase up the back stretch, charging hard first up and coverless. Energetic Hanover followed I Did It Myway and was towed into a perfect second over race position. Belmont Royale was shadowing 3rd over on the rim.
Sprocket remained strong and continued to lead the field to the three quarters in 1:21.4, a 27.4 quarter. I Did It Myway began to tire moving into the lane. Energetic Hanover tipped three wide in deep stretch and stormed home to win by two and a three quarter lengths in 1:50.1 He paid $7.80 for the win.

Energetic Hanover is owned by former NBA basketball star Sam Bowie of West Palm Beach, Florida. Tony Alagna trained and George Napolitano Jr drove.
Sprocket raced gamely and settled for 2nd. Belmont Royale N closed to finish 3rd. Race favorite, I Did It Myway finished a beaten 6th.
Tim Tetrick won three races on the betting card. Chuck Crissman Jr. pitched in for a training triple.
