Plainville, MA — Coming off a winning effort that yielded a lifetime mark at Plainridge Park last week, Enola (Resolve) bounced right back and lowered her harness racing standard again in the $16,000 featured trot on Thursday (Apr. 25) at The Ridge.
Cruising Tom (Maty Athearn) took the lead and got to the quarter in :27.4. However, Busting With Pride (Brett Beckwith) brushed outside from third and grabbed the front before the :57 half. Bruce Ranger had Enola out and rolling at that point and made it to second on the rim as they passed three-quarters.
Busting With Pride and Enola then matched strides around the last turn and continued to tussle into the stretch. As they trotted in deep stretch, Enola started to edge ahead and eventually gained a neck advantage to win in 1:56, taking a new lifetime mark.
It was the fourth win in the last five starts for Enola ($6.80) who is owned by Burke Racing and Weaver Bruscemi and trained by Joe Nelson.
