Ex – Kiwi pacer wins another Open Pace

Typhoon Banner N (Ridge Warren) captures the $15,000 featured Open Pace at Tioga Downs on Sunday (September 7).

Rockin On Venus (Tyler Miller) led to the first quarter in :26.3.  He used a :28.2 second quarter to glide to the half in :55.0.  Typhoon Banner N ($2.80) came first-up to challenge as they headed down the backstretch.  Rockin On Venus had a short lead to three quarters 1

:22.3.

Typhoon Banner N took over as they reached the stretch.  Second place finisher Livonjaxandqueens Kyle DiBenedetto) made a late bid but fell short as Typhoon Banner N won in 1:51.1.  Comet Crusader N (Jim Pantaleano) finished third.

Typhoon Banner N is a 9-year-old gelding by Bettor’s Delight.  He is trained by Joe Bongiorno for owners Phillip Steinberg, JB Racing, and Barbara Bongiorno.  It was his third win of the season.  He now has 28 career victories.

Braxten Boyd drove five winners on the card.  He was first with Smart Boy, PL Princess C, Andover Contessa, Building Boost, and Ozark.
