Delitfulcatherin N (Bettor’s Delight) was stretched out to the opening quarter mile, but once in command of the harness racing field, could not be caught in winning the $39,000 Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace Friday (Oct. 28) at Yonkers Raceway.
It was Lucky Artist A (Braxten Boyd), who kept Delitfulcatherin N and driver Jordan Stratton parked out to a :27.4 first quarter. Once on the lead, Delitfulcatherin N cut the mile to the half in :57.3.
Down the backstretch, Morning Has Broken (Jason Barlett) came first-over and worked her way up to the leader by the three-quarters in 1:27 with Mcmarkle Sparkle (George Brennan) second over.
As they reached the top of the stretch, Delitfulcatherin N and Stratton held a one length lead and maintained it down the stretch and to the finish in 1:54.2. Lucky Artist A was second with Morning Has Broken third.
