What Should I Goo (Googoo Gaagaa) was on her game as she crushed her harness racing rivals in winning the $36,000 Fillies & Mares Open Handicap Trot Thursday (Oct. 19) evening at Yonkers Raceway.
Driven by Joe Bongiorno, race favorite What Should I Goo floated out from post six to start off the 2nd race feature and when after early leader Abbey D (George Brennan), taking the lead away at the opening quarter mile in :28.4.
What Should I Goo then trotted away to the half mile in :58 with no one trying a first-over move. Then in the backstretch What Should I Goo started to pull away from the field, leading by six and one-half lengths at the three-quarters in 1:25.4.
Around the final turn, Bongiorno let What Should I Goo have her way and she opened up on the field, pulling away in the stretch to win in a romp by seven and one-quarter lengths in 1:55.1. Abbey D was second with Dreamonhigh (Jason Bartlett) third.
WHAT SHOULD I GOO REPLAY
It was the seventh win on the year for What Should I Goo. The four-year-old mare is trained by Jenn Bongiorno for owner Ken Jacobs and paid $4.40 to win.
Driver Austin Siegelman won with Vinny De Vie at 21-1 and Alex Tye at 17-1 during Thursday nightās (October 19) Pick 5 at MGM Yonkers Raceway, and was the main catalyst that led to no tickets having five of five in the wager. As a result, Friday nightās (October 20) program at Yonkers will have a $5,394.60 carryover and a $15,000 guaranteed pool in the Pick 5 sequence.
The guarantee in the Pick 5 is being offered as part of the United States Trotting Associationās Strategic Wagering Program. Free past performances for the Pick 5, courtesy of TrackMaster, will be availableĀ here. The Pick 5, which begins in race five, has a takeout rate of 20 percent.
