HARRINGTON, DE – Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) stakes action for 3-year-old pacers kicked off the week of harness racing at Harrington Raceway with a trio of $20,000 divisions Monday (June 12).
Night Terror (Badlands Hanover) and driver Allan Davis started DSBF action with a wire-to-wire 1:55.4 win over Sweetest Swing and Showdown Lynx. Co-owned by trainer Steve Leblanc, the Badlands Hanover colt overcame post eight quickly and never relented in achieving his 5th win of the season as the overwhelming favorite, who paid $2.20 to win.
NIGHT TERROR REPLAY
Gty Stable’s Gaitway Guy (Delmarvaious) and driver Corey Callahan won the 2nd split in 1:54.3, the fastest of the three divisions.
The gelding uncorked a vicious rally near three-quarters and drew away from the field for his 8th career win. Badlands Casino was second with Rod’s Beach third. Trained by Jeff Smith, Gaitway Guy improved to 8-for-11 lifetime and paid $3.20 to win.
GAITWAY GUY REPLAY
Favorites completed a sweep of the DSBF divisions as Let It Ride Stables’ Bad Boy Too (Badlands Hanover) $2.10, and driver Corey Callahan were 1:55.3 winners in the final division over Notte’s Mist and Bad Colt. The gelding notched his 4th win of the season for trainer Mike Hall in dominant fashion.
BAD BOY TOO REPLAY
In the $20,000 Open Pace, the overnight feature, George and Tina Dennis’ Wager On Me (Bettor’s Delight) and driver Ross Wolfenden) were 1:52 winners over Itsrockandroll A and Metallica. Trained by Joe Columbo, it was the 4th win of the meet and 7th on the year for the 7-year-old gelding. He paid $6.40 to win.
WAGER ON ME REPLAY
On the undercard, Vince Bradley and Trinity Pilkington’s Never Say Never ($3.60, Russell Foster) won his second straight $40,000 claiming event, a $16,000 pace, in 1:53.1 for trainer Bart Bradley.
Foster had 3 wins on the program and recently celebrated his 2,000thĀ driving win at Ocean Downs on Sunday June 11.
Tony Morgan, Corey Callahan, Ross Wolfenden and Art Stafford Jr. each had two wins.
