February payments for Hambletonian Society-serviced stakes due soon

Cranbury, NJ — The initial payment deadline for eligibility to more than 157 harness racing stakes events at 14 different tracks, headlined by the $1 million Hambletonian at The Meadowlands on August 3 and the $7 million Breeders Crown events on Oct. 25 and 26, is fast approaching.

Payments for all Hambletonian Society serviced stakes are due Thursday (Feb. 15) and must be postmarked by midnight on Friday (Feb. 16), per USTA Rule 12.02.

WHAT’S NEW?

The $50,000 (est.) The Bally’s Randy race for 3-Year-Old Colt & Filly Trotters & Pacers. They will be raced on Friday, November 22 at Harrah’s Hoosier Park in Anderson, IN.

WHAT’S MOVED?

The 2-Year-Old Tompkins-Geers, four races for all gaits and genders has moved to Woodbine Mohawk Park from The Meadowlands and will be raced on Thursday June 27th & Friday June 28th.

THE $7.2M BREEDERS CROWN – 41st Anniversary

The Breeders Crown will be celebrating its 41st birthday at The Meadowlands on October 25 & 26. The Crown continues to enjoy robust participation from all segments of the industry and the guaranteed purses for 2024 reflect that.

A win in the Jim Doherty Memorial (2CT) or Peter Haughton Memorial (2FT) gives you Breeders Crown options for those same divisions.

The winner of the 2024 Hoosier Cup (Indiana-sired 3-year-old pacers) at Harrah’s Hoosier Park will receive an automatic nomination to the 2024 Jenna’s Beach Boy.

As a reminder the Stallion Restriction Condition at The Meadowlands affects 2021 & 2022 foals. Please check The Meadowlands website for the full Stallion restrictions applicable to the Cane Pace, Shady Daisy and Tompkins-Geers 3-year-olds, as well as the Reynolds 2-year-olds and 3-year-old trotters BUT not the 3-year-old pacers at Plainridge Racecourse and not the 2-year-old Tompkins-Geers at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

The payment schedule dates are unchanged. Current racing conditions for the races we service can be found on our website under each specified race page or on the USTA.

In all cases only ONE check is ever necessary for each of the four payment periods i.e., February 15, March 15, April 15, May 15 or August 15 (Yearling Supplement). As always, make sure to double check that all eligibility payments are made from month to month. Some races have one payment while others have multiple payments due over multiple months. Missing one of those payments will make your horse ineligible come the date of entry.
