Feeling Sweet took full advantage of the passing lane and won the $25,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace at Dover Downs on Wednesday night.
Heavy rains forced a race delay, but all races were completed on the betting card.
Feeling Sweet and Shes Pukka N left eagerly from the start of the race. Soho Burning Love A also left from her outside position and found the three hole to land in nearing the quarter pole. Feeling Sweet retreated to the pocket behind pacesetter Shes Pukka N.
Shes Pukka N, with her usual quick speed, passed the quarter in 27.2 over a track condition listed as good.
Soho Burning Love A, the 3/5 betting favorite, rushed to the top in front of the stands and took control of the lead. The half was reached in 55 (27.3). Intheskyrocket A rocketed 1st up down the back stretch and challenged for the lead.
Soho Burning Love A reached the three quarters in 1:23.4 (28.4). At the top of the lane, Soho Burning Love A became leg weary while on the lead. Shes Pukka N and driver Tony Morgan moved off the rail allowing Feeling
Sweet and Mike Cole to surge along the passing lane.
Feeling Sweet (Sweet Lou) won by a neck in 1:53 and paid $17.60 for the win. She is owned by George and Tina Dennis Racing of Wyoming, Delaware and is trained by Joe Columbo trained.

Bettor Memories, Shoobee Doo A and Penzance Hanover highlight the 10th race $25,000 Open/ Preferred Pace on Thursday night. There is also a carryover with the Pick 3 ($903) Pick 4 ($2,215). Pick 5 ($4,391) and Pentafecta ($2,746), all on Thursday nightās card.
