Ohio State Fair harness racing action continued Friday evening at Eldorado Scioto Downs with three divisions of 2-year-old filly pacers going for $149,300, two divisions of 3-year-old filly pacers for $115,000 and two divisions of 3-year-old filly trotters for $111,000.
Cape Cod Hanover won the first division for 2-year-old filly pacers by six lengths in 1:51.4. Driven by Chris Page for trainer Ron Burke, the daughter of Downbytheseaside – Clouding Over now has over $68,000 in earnings for owners Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, Rich Lombardo Racing and RAS Racing.
Purchased for $20,000 out of the Ohio Select Sale, Cape Cod Hanover is now four for four, with two Ohio Sires Stakes wins.

Another Burke trainee, Sea Silk, won the third division in 1:53. Also driven by Page, the Downbythesaside – Silk Purse filly is undefeated in four starts for owners Burke Racing, Weaver Bruscemi, Knox Services and Hatfield Stables.

Hot Shot Temptress (Aaron Merriman for Kyle Ater) won the second division, also in 1:53. Sporting a :27.4 last quarter, the McArdle – Forever Ivy filly won by three and a quarter lengths for owner Ivy Holdings.

Katie’s Lucky Day and Trevor Smith took the first division of the 3-year-old filly trot in 1:54.1. Trained by Todd Luther for Black Magic Racing, the daughter of Uncle Peter – Yanksky has nearly $200,000 in lifetime earnings.

Herculisa won the other division for 3-year-old filly trotters in 1:54.4 for trainer Virgil Morgan, Jr. and driver Brett Miller. By My MVP out of Herculotte Hanover, she is owned by Jesmeral Stable.

The first division of 3-year-old filly pacers was won by Summer Touch (Well Said – Real Touch) in 1:51.3. Trained by Ron Burke and driven by Page, the filly won gate to wire for owners Burke Racing Stable, Knox Services, Slaughter Racing Stb and Weaver Bruscemi.

Smothastenesewisky also won in 1:51.3 in the second division. The daughter of Nob Hill High – Tender Spirit came off a win in 1:48.4 two starts back and now has over $160,000 in lifetime earnings for owner/trainer Brian Haynes.
