My Debt Collector (Chapter Seven) cashed in big time at Monticello Raceway Monday afternoon (Aug. 19), leading from start to finish for harness racing driver Jim Taggart, Jr. in capturing the $106,300 New York Sire Stakes dash for two-year-old trotting fillies.
It was the richest race of the year at Monticello Raceway as the 8th race feature saw My Debt Collector and Taggart leave from post three and go right to the early lead with Morning Angel (Braxten Boyd) taking the garden spot two-hole trip.
My Debt Collector cut fractions of :29 to the quarter and :59.2 to the half mile before race favorite Beautiful Sight (Tyler Buter) came first-over in the backstretch with Calculus Risk (Jordan Stratton) second-over as they passed the three quarters in 1:29.3.
Calculus Risk then tipped three-wide on the final turn to mount a challenge, but it was too late as Taggert let My Debt Collector have her head and the filly pulled away in the stretch to win by three lengths in 1:59.4. Calculus Risk edged out Beautiful Sight by a nose for second place.
MY DEBT COLLECTOR REPLAY
It was the second win on the season for My Debt Collector. The filly is trained by R. Nifty Norman for owners Dave Mc Duffee, Mel Hartman and Little E Stable, paying $5.70 to win. Hartman, Liverman and Mc Duffee also bred the filly.
Taggert won the last three races on the card to end the day with a driving triple.
