First-over move takes Saratoga feature

Askmenoquestions was able to hang tough coming first-over from before the half mile and win the feature trot at Saratoga Raceway Friday evening (May 20).

The 10^th race non-winners for fillies and mares got underway with Southwind Rifle and driver Brian Cross left from post five and was parked out to the opening quarter mile in :28.2 by Gavinator and driver Brett Crawford.

Then going to the half mile is when driver Phil Fluet started up first-over with 7-1 Askmenoquestions as they field went by the half mile in :59.1 with Usurp Hanover (Shawn Gray) second-over.

Down the backstretch, Askmenoquestions continued to gain ground on the outside and was third as they went by the three-quarters in 1:29.

Starting down the stretch, Askmenoquestions was able to wear down Southwind Rifle heading towards the wire and then held the field at bay, winning by one and one-quarter lengths in 1:58.4. Usurp Hanover was second with Gavinator third.

ASKMENOQUESTIONS REPLAY

It was the first win this year for Askmenoquestions. The five-year-old mare by Conway Hall is trained by Phil Fluet and is owned by Michael Woodward. She paid $16.60 to win.
