First-time winners in each of the BSS divisions

Grove City, OH – First-time Buckeye Stallion Series harness racing winners claimed each of the three $20,000 divisions of the fourth leg for freshman colt trotters at Eldorado Scioto Downs on Tuesday (Aug. 26).

Uncle Danny

Out Of Range (Brett Miller) posted the fastest mile among the three races, winning the first division by five lengths in 1:56.2 for his first career victory in his third start. The In Range gelding left from post seven and was fourth as Drivinthrusmoke (Chris Page) led the field past the quarter pole in :29.1. Moving up along the outside, Out Of Range took the lead going to the :58.1 half and was in front by more than two lengths at the 1:27 three-quarters en route to the victory. Drivinthrusmoke was second followed by Dublins Striker (Tyler Smith) in third. Out Of Range is trained by Steve Carter for owner James Crawford IV.

Uncle Danny (Anthony MacDonald) won the second division in 1:57. The Jason McGinnis trainee left from post eight and led the field past the :28.3 quarter before settling in the pocket behind Range Rover (Sandy Beatty), who led at the :58.2 half and 1:28 three-quarters. Uncle Danny moved first up entering the final stretch and pulled away to win by more than three lengths over Range Rover. Ready For Sunshine (Ronnie Gillespie) was third. Uncle Danny is an Uncle Peter gelding owned by Thestable Uncle Danny and Hutchison Harness LLC. He has three wins and one second with $51,950 in earnings in eight seasonal starts.

Moon Time Moni (Jeremy Smith) edged Spirit Mission (Page) by half a length to win the third division as both horses crossed the line in 1:57. The Scott Cox-trained Moon Time Moni left from post four and led wire to wire in the victory, posting fractions of :29.1, :59.1, and 1:28 en route to his first career win in his fifth start. Jackie Jann (Wilbur Yoder) finished third. Moon Time Moni is a Ready For Moni gelding owned by Wayne Mast Jr., Callam Racing, Green Wave Racing, and Wayne Zollars.

The Buckeye Stallion Series for 2-year-old colt trotters continues with the fifth leg at Delaware on Sept. 16.
