(Cambridge, Illinois, USA) — June 19, 2022 – 2nd Trainer/Driver John Smith of Flowood, Mississippi, USA, made his career debut as a harness racing driver Sunday afternoon (June 19) at the Henry County Fair in Cambridge, Illinois. In his third and final drive of the day, he scored his first career victory.

Currently the 2nd Trainer to Jamaica Patton who recently won his second-in-a-row Juneteenth Invite this past Saturday June, 18, 2022, with Rock Steady Ron (Rockin Image – Magical Leah – Magical Mike) in Springfield, Illinois, USA. John had previously served as the 2nd trainer to Roshun Trigg over the years of whom he still maintains strong relations.
Congratulations to John, who won the $3,150 Illinois Harness Horsemen’s Association race for trotters in wire-to-wire fashion (33.4 1:06.0 (32.1) 1:38.1 (32.1) 2:08.1 (30.0) with Majistic Caprice (Malabar Aqua – Tropical Caprice – Armbro Tropicana) for Owner/Trainer Roshun Trigg. Making the victory even sweeter was the fact John’s parents made the trip on Father’s Day from Mississippi to see it happen.
