WASHINGTON, PA, Oct. 24, 2024 — Dismissed at 32-1, Five Stars (Walner) found the Lightning Lane in time, poured through and pulled off the harness racing upset in Thursday’s co-feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, an $11,900 Conditioned Trot.
As the field turned for home, Five Stars was buried behind horses and figured to be racing for a check. But as other contenders fanned outside, Dave Palone pointed Five Stars to the suddenly available Lightning Lane. The 4-year-old daughter of Walner-Superstar Hanover responded beautifully, overtaking the leader, His Glory, and downing him by 1/2 length in 1:56.1. Midnight Nolan rallied wide to complete the ticket.
