The Florida Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association (FSBOA) will wrap-up the 2025 harness racing season this Saturday (November 29) with the Florida Breeders Stake at the* Sunshine Meadows Equestrian Center (sunshinemeadowsdelray.com/sunshine-meadows) in Delray Beach, Florida.
There will be eight race events for two and three-year-old trotters and pacers starting at 11:00 am. Each of the eight races compete for a purse of $8,000.
There is just one horse entered, Prairie Puma (Royel Millennium – Cat Lady), who can make a sweep of all five stakes races. The three-year-old pacing filly starts from post two for driver Joseph Fiorello in the third race. She is going for her seventh win of the season.
Fiorello, 49, who just began his driving career with Prairie Puma and has only a qualifying/fair race license, is undefeated with four straight wins. She is trained by Nicholas Coblentz and is owned by Dein Spriggs of Jupiter and was bred by Laurie Poulin of NY.
Also on winning streaks entering the Florida Breeders Stake are Dances With Gators (Mickey McNichol) in the first race going for her fifth straight win, McHungry (Mike Wilder) in race four with a three-race win streak, Jays Gator Boy (Mickey McNichol) in race 7 going for his fourth straight win, Gold Lucky Star (Nicholas Coblentz) race eight on a three-race win streak, SL Mon Petite (Marshall Makin) in race two with a two-race win streak and Ugottabkidnme (Marlin Fry) in race three on a two-race win streak.
Then in the sixth race three-year-old filly trot you have Nola Christian (Mike Wilder) from post two, who is on a four-race win streak against Sunshine Jet (Nicholas Coblentz) in post one, who is on a two-race win streak.
Admission and parking is free at Sunshine Meadows and the FSBOA will provide free race programs. Fans are urged to bring your own lawn chairs.
