Madison Hughes comes to The Red Mile August 25

Lexington, KY—August 22, 2024—The Red Mile is thrilled to host the next edition of Sunday Night Lights, presented by Crawford Farms, on Sunday, August 25. This action-packed day will be highlighted by a live performance from rising country artist Madison Hughes, alongside a lineup of exciting activities for all ages and championship harness racing.

Madison Hughes, a Florida native and former contestant on Team Blake’s The Voice, has captivated fans around the country with her signature sultry, smoky, and “husky” tone. Madison’s sound is an eclectic mixture of Americana and Country-Blues, and she is known as one of Nashville’s emerging artists. Known for her soulful voice and relatable lyrics, Madison will perform from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on the track apron and treat the crowd to fan-favorite hits like “Slow Burn” and “Southern Breeze”.

The festivities will kick off at 1:00 PM with the always-entertaining wiener dog races on the track. Pre-registration for the wiener dog races is required and all proceeds will benefit the Lexington Humane Society. Live harness racing action begins at 5:05 PM and will feature Kentucky Sires Stakes action highlighted by the 2024 $1 million Hambletonian winning, Karl set to line up behind the gate in the sixth race on the card for trainer Nancy Takter. World Champion two-year-old pacing colt, Sipponsearoc, will kick-things off in the first race on the program. 

Sunday Night Lights is a family-friendly event, offering something for everyone. Guests will enjoy delicious bites from a variety of food trucks, free face painting for the kids, a caricature artist, a variety of vendors and take in the vibrant atmosphere of The Red Mile. Admission is free, making it easy for the whole family to join in the fun.
