FORT WASHINGTON, Md. — Russell Foster drove three winners on the Thursday (Nov. 20) harness racing program at Rosecroft Raceway, including the winners of both $9,000 features.
In the upper-level conditioned trot, carded as race 11, Foster launched a first-over bid with 3-5 favorite I See A Star out of fifth before a :58.1 half, overpowered pacesetter Prince Of Royals (driven by Tim Deaton) heading to the final turn, and evaded a late rally from runner-up Whoodle Hanover (Frank Milby) by 2-1/4 lengths to win in 1:56.4.
I SEE A STAR REPLAY
Brian Emerson owns and trains the 4-year-old Bar Hopping mare, who paid $3.20 to win.
Foster came right back to capture race 12, the night’s top conditioned pace for fillies and mares, with even-money favorite Roll The Music. The 5-year-old Roll With Joe mare traveled uncontested on the lead through splits of :27.1, :56.3 and 1:25 before repelling a challenge from pocket rival Oh Ophelia (Roger Plante Jr.) to prevail by three-quarters of a length in 1:53.3.
Katie Callahan trains Roll The Music, who returned $4.00 to win, for owner Brian Callahan.
Live racing returns to Rosecroft on Monday (Nov. 24) with carryovers of $245.71 in the Pick-5 (races 3-7) and $1,711.43 in the Jackpot Hi-5 (race 10). First post is 7:15 p.m. (EST).
