Four-bagger for Switzer, Jr

Bangor, Maine …. It was a different venue but a similar result on Wednesday (September 3) as Kevin Switzer, Jr traded in the open-air paddocks of Maine’s fairground circuit for the commercial meet climes of Bangor Raceway, But without skipping a single beat, the lightning hot teamster continued his mastery over the Pine Tree circuit, scoring four wins during the course of the opening day performance, as Bangor’s four day September harness racing meeting got underway.

Fresh off claiming consecutive driving championships at Maine’s Topsham, Skowhegan, and Windsor Fairs, Switzer wasted precious time in taking a dominant Bangor stance, ultimately scoring his 61st driving win from the last 22 race days in state-of-Maine competition.

Switzer’s grand slam performance included wins with Polyester(1:59.4-$4.80), one of two wins on the card for trainer Jamie Gerard; Valentino Of Leda (1:59.4-$3.20), one of three wins on the program for trainer Benson Merrill; Liam’s Ace (1:58-$2.20), one of two Wednesday winners for trainer Eric Bickmore; and Word Out (1:57.4-$2.20), who scored his 25th career victory while winning for the eighth time this season from trainer Ronald Dinsmore’s roster.

In other Bangor news, driver Aaron Hall mounted exploits of his own, teaming home three winners on Wednesday, while veterans David Ingraham and Michael Stevenson each claimed a pair of victories.

Bangor Raceway was also pleased to welcome new owner, Brooke Childs into the Queen City winners circle after she secured her first win as an owner with Lyons Shining (Michael Stevenson) in a seasonal best 1:59.

Bangor’s September soirée continues with a pair of weekend performances on Saturday and Sunday (September 6 and 7) with post time slated for 12:10 pm (EDT) and will conclude with a 3:00 pm mid-afternoon card on Wednesday (September 10).
