Grove City, Ohio – The second leg of the 2021 Buckeye Stallion Series continues Sunday night, July 4, at MGM Northfield Park with five harness racing divisions of 3-year-old pacers. Each division will carry a purse of $17,500.
Six of the seven winners from first leg action at Miami Valley Raceway April 30th will race Sunday night.
Two of the first leg winners will square off in the first division. Smooth Racer, the Racing Hill gelding, trained by Calvin Hollar was a winner in a life-time mark of 1:56.3 in the first leg. Also, in the first division is Rockin Airway, the gelded son of Pet Rock. The Ryan Miller trainee took a lifetime mark of 1:55.4 in the first leg.
The second division will feature Odds On Shaggy trained by Virgil Morgan Jr with Brett Miller driving. The Racing Hill colt has won two of seven starts this season and has a mark of 1:53.2 at Eldorado Scioto Downs.
In the third division, three first leg winners will square off. King’s Cruiser (Yankee Cruiser) with Tyler Smith for trainer Jeff Nisonger, Casecon (Pet Rock) trained by Virgil Morgan Jr. with Brett Miller and Sleeping Single (Racing Hill) with Trevor Smith for trainer Chris Beaver head the field of eight. King’s Cruiser has won four of ten this year, while Casecon is two of seven and Sleeping Single has three wins in ten starts.
The Buckeye Stallion Series will be a part of a 15-race program Sunday night at MGM Northfield Park with a first race post time of 6pm.
