Monticello, NY— Fun Time Charlie (Power Play, Jim Taggart Jr) won the $4,900 harness racing trot at Monticello Raceway on Monday afternoon (Oct. 23).
From the inside, Hillofa Knockout (Kyle Dibenedetto) went for the early lead alongside Starrystarrynight (Adam Moeykens). They were in post position order as they passed the first quarter mile in :30.4.
Hillofa Knockout had the lead by a little over a length, with Starrystarrynight in the pocket spot in second. As they passed the half mile in 1:02, the 3-2 favorite Fun Time Charlie made his way to the front from the outside.
Moving around the clubhouse turn, Fun Time Charlie was the leader, with Hillofa Knockout racing in second and Lous Livia (Michael Merton) in third. They passed the three-quarter mile in 1:31.
Fun Time Charlie crossed the wire first in 2:01.3. Lous Livia finished in second and Hillofa Knockout came in third.

Fun Time Charlie, an 8-year-old gelding, is owned by Scott Keppler and trained by Nancy Montembeault. He paid $5.10 to win.
