Fundraiser being held for family of Makayla Laverty

Makayla Laverty was killed over the weekend in a tragic car accident. She played an active role in the harness racing industry and many knew her for her infectious smile.

There are multiple fundraising efforts going on for her family to help cover funeral costs. Donations are being accepted at this link.

There will also be a spaghetti lunch and dinner held on Wednesday at Northfield Park. The dinner will include spaghetti, meatballs, salad, garlic bread and a drink for $20.

In addition, horses will be wearing ribbons at both Northfield Park and Miami Valley in honor of her. Donations are being accepted at the tracks as well.
