While nothing changed in the top two spots in the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, Legendary Hanover moved up to No. 3 and Abuckabett Hanover returned to the Top 10 in the Week 11 edition of the harness racing rankings released Tuesday.
Legendary Hanover, who won his division of the Empire Breeders Classic in a track-record 1:48.1 at Tioga Downs this past Sunday, moved from fifth to third in the rankings. Twin B Joe Fresh, who was idle, remained No. 1 for the seventh consecutive week and Karl, who won the third leg of the Kentucky Sire Stakes Championship Series in a career-best 1:50.2 at the Red Mile, stayed at No. 2.
Abuckabett Hanover rejoined the Top 10 for the first time since Week 7. He won the Preferred at Woodbine Mohawk Park last week and came in at No. 10 in the rankings.
Papi Grad, who finished second in a division of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes, dropped from the Top 10.
The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, which will be released every Tuesday through the remainder of the Grand Circuit season, does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.
