Shoobee Doo A went wire to wire in the $25,000 Open/Preferred Pace at Dover Downs on Thursday night.

Shoobee Doo A, who has finished second in six of his last eight starts found the winners circle off a wire-to-wire performance.

Driver Corey Callahan and Shoobee Doo A left alertly from the outside but were parked to the quarter in 26.3. Mack (Mike Cole) stubbornly retreated to the pocket.

Shoobee Doo A led to the half mile in :55 (28.2). Major Crocker A pulled first over at the five eights marker. Backstreet Shadow, the 3/5 race favorite, shadowed 2nd over on the outside.

Shoobee Doo A sailed to the three quarters in 1:23 (28) and continued to keep a safe lead and won by a half-length in 1:50.4. He paid $4.80 to win. Shoobee Doo A ( Shoobee’s Place-Lavish Art-Modern Art) is owned by Michael Casalino Jr. of Freehold, NJ and Dylan Davis of Harrington, DE. Dylan Davis also trains.

Mack finished second for trainer Joe Columbo. Mack’s half-brother and the 3/5 race favorite, Backstreet Shadow was 3rd for trainer Ron Burke and driver Tim Tetrick.

SHOOBEE DOO A REPLAY

Driver Tim Tetrick, trainer Timmie Griffith, and owner Forrest L Bartlett all had 3 wins on the card. Forrest Bartlett owned the great pacer Forrest Skipper, who in 1986 was named Horse Of the Year.

There is a $2,851 carryover in the Pentafecta into Monday night’s races.
