I Get It (Dontyouforgetit) benefitted from a perfect journey and upset the field in the Open Handicap harness racing trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night (Feb. 20).
At the start of the race, Northern Express was anxious for the lead. He left for early race position then took the lead away from I Get It, marching to the quarter in 27.3. Northern Express parked out The 3/5 betting favorite Muscle Dynasty for half a mile, providing some late night hard ball. They continued to dueled each other passing the half in 56.1(28.3).
I Get It watched all the early action from the pocket. Northern Express was able to put away Muscle Dynasty after passing the three quarters in 1:25. (28.4). The old man, JL Cruze, circled three wide at the top of the stretch but his bid failed. I Get It muscled his way along thru along the pylons trotting past Northern Express on the wire.
I Get It won by a head and trotted the mile in 1:55. He paid $13.20 for the win. I Get It is owned by Triple D Stables and Michael Rekoon both from New Jersey. Scott DiDomenico trained and Tim Tetrick drove. Northern Express raced giant but finished 2nd. Darbyshire sat along the pylons and finished 3rd.
