Tarkio won his fourth consecutive race and added the $27,500 Blue Hen/ Open Handicap to his win accomplishments Thursday at Dover Downs.
Race favorite Bo Mach left quickly but was parked to the opening quarter in a rapid :26.4 by Island of The Sea.
Bo Mach and driver Corey Callahan crawled to the half in :57.3. They paced the quarter in 31 seconds over a sloppy track. Bo Mach continued on the lead to the three quarters in 1:26.2. Tarkio was in gear and pulled first-over past the half. Justasec N shadowed his cover, racing second over on the rim.
Tarkio and driver Allan Davis took the lead away from a tiring Bo Mach past the three-quarter pole. Tarkio won by three quarters of a length in 1:54.2 and paid $10.80 for the win.
Allan Davis celebrated his birthday with the victory.
Tarkio (Betting Line -Lovely Assistant -Art Major) is owned by Legacy Racing Of De Inc. and Reginald A.Hazzard both of Delaware. Wayne Givens trains.
Justasec N was second for trainer Timmie Griffith. Art Stafford Jr. drove. Movin On Up was third for trainer Chuck Crissman Jr. and driver Montrell Teague.
