I Get It (Dontyouforgetit) benefitted from a pocket journey from harness racing driver Victor Kirby and won the $25,000 Open Handicap Trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday (March 12) night.
Northern Express and I Get It left the gate together. Northern Express was parked to the opening quarter in :27.1. I Get It retreated to the pocket.
The even odds betting favorite Muscle Dynasty wanted no parts of the early skirmish and took back to last at the quarter. Northern Express slowed down the race tempo after reaching the half in :56.4, a pedestrian :29.3 quarter.
Black Hope moved first over in front of the stands in pursuit of the pacesetter Northern Express. Muscle Dynasty followed closely second over trotting down the backstretch. Northern Express hit the accelerator and trotted to the three quarters in 1:25.1, a :28.2 quarter.
The back field was in motion when Black Hope became leg weary at the top of the stretch. Muscle Dynasty was closing fast on the outside. That Ole Bar Stool circled four wide at the top of the stretch. I Get It remained in the pocket and was searching for racing room along the pylons.
I Get It trotted past the field in deep stretch and won by a length and three quarters in 1:54.2. It was a lifetime mark and he paid $24.00 for the win.

I Get It is owned by Triple D Stables Inc and Michael Rekoon both from New Jersey. Scott DiDomenico trains.
For driver Victor Kirby, he picked up his fourth victory of the night with the winning drive. Muscle Dynasty closed late to finish second. Northern Express cut the mile and finished third.
Jody and Tae continue their rivalry racing in the $25,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace on Wednesday night. There is a $4,562 pick 5 carryover starting on the 6th race. Racing continues on Wednesday with a 4:30 pm post time.
