Capt Jack Hanover (Captaintreacherous) and harness racing driver Tony Morgan won the $17,000 feature race of the night at Bally’s Dover on Thursday night.
Capt Jack Hanover left quickly at the start of the race and forced a tuck into the first turn by Ollie’s Z Tam (Allan Davis), who was able to drop into the pocket. Heinikin Bythebay (Tim Tetrick) left from post 7, settled, then rushed to the top, passing the quarter in a quick :27 flat.
Heinikin Bythebay continued on the lead to the half in :54.2, a :27.2 quarter. Atlas Hanover made a first up bid from 6th, but that rally stalled as did a three-wide brush by All Hands On Deck down the backstretch.
Heinikin Bythebay continued on the lead and reached the three quarters in 1:22.2, a :28 flat quarter. At the top of the stretch, Capt Jack Hanover and Tony Morgan pulled the pocket and won convincingly by on a romp by four open lengths. The time of the race was 1:49.4, a lifetime best.
