Rivers took command at the opening quarter mile and never had to look back in capturing the $51,350 trot final of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund eligible series at Dover Downs Tuesday.
Restricted to three-year-old colt and gelding trotters, the fifth race feature saw Rivers and driver Corey Callahan pass by Canoe Trip (Allan Davis) at the opening quarter mile in :29.4.
Rivers then held the field at bay to the half in 1:00, the three-quarters in 1:29.4 and then kicked in a :28.4 last quarter to win by two and one-half lengths in 1:58.2.
Canoe Trip was second with Wolfpack Russ (Tim Tetrick) third.
A gelded son of Anders Bluestone, it was the second straight win as Rivers is undefeated in two starts in 2020. He is trained by Nick Callahan and co-owned by Stuart Chambers Racing, LLC, BCJM, Inc. and Divine Horse. He paid just $2.20 to win.
