Harness racing driver Jim Marohn, Jr. took no chances with 7-1 Nows The Moment (Credit Winner), sending the eight-year-old gelding down the road in winning the $32,000 Open Trot Thursday (Nov. 9) at Yonkers Raceway.
Leaving from post three in the 2nd race feature, Nows The Moment stepped right to the lead with Credit Con (Tyler Buter) sitting on their backs to the first quarter in :27.4.
Nows The Moment then cut the mile unchallenged to the half in :57.2 and the three-quarters in 1:25.4. By the top of the stretch he was up by two lengths and went on to win by one and one-quarter lengths in 1:54.3. Credit Con was second with Eurobond (Jason Bartlett) third.
It was the ninth win of the season for Nows The Moment. He is trained by Mark Ford for owner Sonya MacDonald and paid $16.80 to win.

Favorites found tough sledding on Thursday night, including a winless streak in the Pick 5 sequence. As a result, Friday night’s Pick 5 will have a $4,534.89 carryover and a $15,000 guaranteed pool.
The guarantee in the Pick 5 is being offered as part of the United States Trotting Associationās Strategic Wagering Program. Free past performances for the Pick 5, courtesy of TrackMaster, will be availableĀ here. The Pick 5, which begins in race five, has a takeout rate of 20 percent.
MGM Yonkers Raceway is hosting live racing on Monday through Friday nights with post time at 7 p.m. but does have one schedule change this month as the track will only have programs the week of Thanksgiving on Monday, November 20 and Tuesday, November 21 before going dark Wednesday through Friday.
