WASHINGTON, PA, Feb. 1, 2024 — Parked the opening three-eighths, Emerald’s Legacy (Father Patrick-Devilish Emerald) still had enough in the tank to draw off late and capture Thursday’s $19,200 Open Handicap Trot at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
With the 2-5 harness racing favorite, Tequila Talkin, stalking from the pocket, it appeared that Emerald Legacy’s lead might be imperiled in the lane. But under Dave Palone’s urging, the 5-year-old gelding widened his advantage, downing Tequila Talkin by 3-1/2 lengths in 1:54.2. Killer Instinct completed the ticket.
