Fancy Colt, driven by Tony Morgan, and T's Electric piloted by Corey Callahan won separate divisions of the Thursday, March 25 harness racing co-feature paces at Dover Downs. George Dennis wins five.
Fancy Colt won for the third time this meet registering a 1:51.2 triumph in the first of two $10,500 divisions. Veteran Tony Morgan was I the bike behind the Always A Virgin-Fanciful Hanover gelding owned by Crissman Inc., in the competitive eight-horse field. Tim Crissman conditions the 17-time career winner who now has banked $174,287. Race Me Villa (Montrell Teague) was right there a close second with Hide Me Away (Russ Foster) the show horse.
Corey Callahan drove T's Electric past Feel Like A Fool (Vic Kirby) just after the opening panel and continued to lead the rest of a 1:51.4 mile. A :28 last quarter proved just enough to hold off fast finishing Maximum Terror (Ben Stafford Jr.) and Feel Like A Fool in the finish line photo. Steve Blood owns the Village Jolt-Quip Hanover gelding trained by Richard Robertson Jr. The win was the second of the year for T's Electric, who has won 16 races and $150,534 lifetime.
George Dennis continues on a hot tier driving five winners on the winningest week in his career at Dover Downs. Dennis has won 14 races; Monday 2, Tuesday, 4, Wednesday 3, and 5 Thursday with two-trainer wins. In the driver standings, he now has won 112 races this meet good for fourth place.
Tony Morgan, Corey Callahan and Jonathan Roberts also collected driving doubles.
A $60,000 Invitational/ Handicap led by the first start of the year for 2015 Horse of the Year, Wiggle It Jiggleit, caps an outstanding program which includes a $36,000 Preferred and $33,000 Delaware Special on Monday, March 28.
Monday through Thursday racing begins at 4:30 p.m. Dover Downs is dark on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
