Delaware, Ohio, September 14, 2025…The Great Lakes Amateur Driving Association (GLADA) kicked off the 2025 Jug week festivities in Delaware, Ohio on Sunday with David Glasser and Jazmin Short victorious in their respective harness racing events.

MJS WISHINFORME REPLAY

Glasser launched the festivities in giving Mjs Wishinforpete (Uncle Peter) a picture perfect drive to score in 1:57.3, turning a garden journey to the winner’s circle and delighting his faithful at 16 to 1 odds.

Facebook Official, handled by Ranger Steck, cut all the mustard and finished second, just a nose ahead of A Royal Line, driven by Steve Oldford.

Nothingbutadreamer, beginning from the extreme difficult eight post on the compact half mile oval, closed well to be fourth while Atta Girl Dani picked up the nickel for Dalton Cotrell.

Prior to the event, Doyle Bross, trainer of Mjs Wishinforpete, a six-year-pld gelded son of Uncle Peter, told Glasser that he can leave a bit and said the inside post should provide a decent trip for him.

It did just that!

As Facebook Official sprinted off the wings, Mjs Wishinforpete was also alert leaving and got the dream journey through panels of :28.3, :57.4 and 1:27.2 before leaving from the comfort of that garden seat and rolled on by once straightened away, the margin 2 1/4 lengths.

In a post race interview, Glasser lamented, “I have been driving for 45 years or so and even driving in a race at a track like the iconic Delaware, Ohio has been on my bucket list.

“But to win here, oh my gosh, well, there are no words sufficient…a dream come true.

“I won’t need an airplane to get home now…I’ll just take a ‘cloud nine!’”

Mjs Wishinforpete, also owned by trainer Doyle Bross, returned $35.60 to his faithful.

Magical Muscleman, a seven-year-old son of Muscle Hill, trained by Herman Hagerman for the trio of Anthony Miller, Lucinda Belcher and Daniel Schrock, put in a very game performance for Jazmin Short to score in 1:57.3—the margin 2 1/2 lengths over T Barrr, driven by Kiara Morgan.

MAGICAL MUSCLEMAN REPLAY

Irish Coffee, teamed up with Zach Tackett, was next, followed by Cassius Lane, driven by Harvey Hershberger in the bike. Upnaway Blue Chip, formed to overcome the outside post—eight—did so for Alesha Binkley.

In this one, Irish Coffee was away with alacrity and sprinted to a four length lead at the :27.3 opener as T Barr, away second, and Magical Muscle Man closed that wide gap past the half in :56.3 with the latter grinding forward on the outside.

With three-quarter clocked in 1:26.2, Magical Muscle Man loomed along-side the leader and took charge for good once straightened away for the drive home—the mile 1:57.1.

Magical Muscle Man returned $6.80 as second choice in the betting.

The “GLADA gang” membership of amateur drivers donates 100% of their earnings in their races to worthy charitable organizations from the welfare of retired horses to retraining facilities that give these horses a second career in the arenas of hippotherapy and rehabilitation for those in need—no matter their age.
