WASHINGTON, PA, April 18, 2024 — Passed entering the final turn, Lexi B (Southwind Frank-Sand Lavender-blu) dug deep, reasserted in the lane and captured her second straight harness racing leg in Thursday’s Margaret Provost Memorial Trot at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows. Skyline Seashell took the other $12,500 second leg split in the series for 3-year-old filly trotters.
Hammered down to 1-5, Lexi B controlled the fractions through three-quarters only to find Daylights Daughter moving ambitiously first over from third and poking her head in front. Ronnie Wrenn, Hr. asked Lexi B for more, and the filly responded by retaking the lead and downing the rallying Ciao Time by 2-1/4 lengths in a career-best 1:56.2. Daylights Daughter finished third.
LEXI B REPLAY
Ron Burke trains Lexi B for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.
Skyline Seashell (Father Patrick-Fate Smiled) found herself away last as the 4-5 favorite in a four-horse field, but her driver, Mike Wilder, wanted none of that. He moved her to the point at the quarter, and the filly easily held off the first-over bid of Whiskey’d My Way, downing her by 3/4 lengths in 1:57.2 to equal her lifetime mark. Ann’s Frank completed the ticket.
Dan Altmeyer conditions Skyline Seashell for Diamond Club Racing, Anthony Capone, Jr., Mark Capone and David Wills.
