WASHINGTON, PA, Sept.6, 2024 — For the fifth straight time, Guido Di (Wishing Stone-Focus On Me) showed his heels to the top trotters at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, winning Friday’s $21,200 Open Handicap Trot.

To be sure, Guido Di lost in a pair of $100,000 events at other harness racing tracks during his current Meadows streak. But even post 9 couldn’t beat the 5-year-old gelding Friday, as he reached the point before the quarter for Brady Brown and wasn’t seriously challenged thereafter. Saint K tried to make a race of it, moving first over from third, but Guido Di downed him by a length in 1:53.3. Tequila Talkin finished third.

Mike Wilder collected five wins on the 13-race card, including two for trainer Norm Parker, while Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. enjoyed a triple.
Saturday’s program at The Meadows features a $1,705.76 carryover in the Early Pentafecta (race 4). First post is 12:45 PM.
