Hightstown, NJ — Myron Charna President’s Pace winner Bythemissal (Downbytheseaside) was the only harness racing newcomer to the Top 10 in the Week 10 edition of the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll released Tuesday. The 4-year-old male pacer joined the upper echelon at No. 9.
Little else changed in the Top 10 as Sylvia Hanover (Always B Miki), Confederate (Sweet Lou), It’s My Show (Sweet Lou), and It’s Academic (Uncle Peter) remained entrenched in the top-four spots. It’s My Show picked up two first-place votes off his world-record performance in the second leg of the Kentucky Sire Stakes Championship Series at Red Mile.
It’s Academic won the Tom Aldrich President’s Trot with a world-record effort at Northfield Park. The remainder of this week’s Top 10 were idle.
The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.
