Hightstown, NJ — Pepsi North America Cup winner It’s My Show (Sweet Lou) solidified his hold on No. 1 in the Week 2 Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll released Tuesday while the remainder of the harness racing Top 10 saw plenty of movement and two newcomers.
Sylvia Hanover (Always B Miki), who won the Fan Hanover Stakes, jumped from seventh to second in the rankings followed by Jiggy Jog S (Walner), who captured the second leg of the Graduate Series for 4-year-old trotters. Roses Are Red Stakes winner Grace Hill (Always B Miki) vaulted from outside the Top 10 to fourth while idle Special Way (Walner) completed the top five.
Idle Lochinvar Art A (Modern Art) was sixth followed by North America Cup runner-up Confederate (Sweet Lou), who was a newcomer at seventh. Idle Ruthless Hanover (Somebeachsomewhere) was eighth with Covered Bridge (American Ideal) and Hellabalou (Sweet Lou), who finished 1-2, respectively, in Monday’s Yonkers Open rounding out the group.
The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.
