Bulldog Hanover leaps into Top Ten Poll

Hightstown, NJ — Bulldog Hanover (Shadow Play) joined the Top 10 in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, arriving at No. 6 after his 1:47 victory in a division of the Graduate Series for 4-year-old harness racing male pacers this past Saturday at The Meadowlands.

He was the only newcomer to the Top 10 following a week in which only 13 of the 30 horses receiving points in last week’s poll were in action.

Jimmy Freight (Sportswriter), who was idle, remained No. 1 followed by Test Of Faith (Art Major), who finished second to Mikala in the Graduate Series leg for 4-year-old female pacers, and idle Pebble Beach (Downbytheseaside). Joviality S (Chapter Seven), who won her elimination of the Yonkers Trot, was up one spot to fourth, trading places with idle Ecurie D DK (Infinitif).

Test Of Faith, Pebble Beach, and Joviality S were separated by only 11 points.

Linedrive Hanover (Betting Line) dropped from the Top 10.

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.

Rankings based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
