Harness Analyst – Breeders Crown eliminations Saturday

We have more Breeders Crown eliminations and a full card of harness racing at Hoosier Park tonight (Oct. 20) there are 13 Crown eliminations.

Here is my full analysis of the 15-race card and some multi-race tickets to consider. Keep in mind that many of these elimination races will advance all but one of the entrants to the final and bet accordingly.

Race 1 – Breeders Crown Elimination Open Mare Pacers – Top 5 advance to the Final

(1) SILVER LABEL should be able to work out the winning trip racing either on the lead or from the pocket in the first Breeders Crown elimination on this 15-race card.

Race 2 – Breeders Crown Elimination Open Mare Trotters – Top 5 advance to the Final

(3) JIGGY JOG S towers over her rivals here and it would be a massive upset if she got beat.

Race 3 – Breeders Crown Elimination Open Mare Pacers – Top 5 advance to the Final

(7) GRACE HILL is on a big roll that isn’t likely to be stopped in this elimination.

Race 4 – Breeders Crown Elimination Open Mare Trotters Top 5 advance to the Final

(3) M-M’S DREAM is better than she showed at The Red Mile when beaten at 1 to 9. I expect her to bounce back here.

Race 5 – Breeders Crown Elimination Open Pace Top 5 advance to the Final

(5) TATTOO ARTIST has been unbeatable since late August, and he doesn’t just win, he dominates. He is the clear horse to beat this week and next, but he will probably go off at 1 to 9 tonight.

Race 6 – 5-6-2-8

(5) KNIGHTS TEMPLAR flew home in his North American debut, and he should get a setup for his potent lake kick here; top call.

Race 7 – Breeders Crown Elimination Open Pace Top 5 advance to the Final

4-1-6-5

(4) BYTHEMISSAL is best of these, but tactics are a bit of a question mark in a six-horse field where five make the final.

Race 8 – Breeders Crown Elimination 3YO Trotting Colts and Geldings – Top 3 advance to the Final

5-6-4-3

(5) CELEBRITY BAMBINO was probably best in the Kentucky Futurity, but he was forced to rally several lanes wide on the final turn after taking a big shuffle. He gets top billing here.

Race 9 – Breeders Crown Elimination 3YO Trotting Colts and Geldings – Top 3 advance to the Final

2-5-7-6

(2) TACTICAL APPROACH produced a rally that horses just don’t do after taking the kind of shuffle he took in the Kentucky Futurity. He is the clear horse to beat.

Race 10 – Breeders Crown Elimination 3YO Trotting Colts and Geldings – Top 3 advance to the Final

(4) HELPFIRSTEDITION was terrific here winning the ISS Super Final raced over a sloppy track and I’ll give this sharp gelding the nod to repeat.

Race 11 – Breeders Crown Elimination 3YO Pacing Colts and Geldings– Top 3 advance to the Final

4-2-1-5

(4) CONFEDERATE is simply dominant in this division and the heavy favorite to win Horse of the Year. It would be a giant upset if he got beat here.

Race 12 – Breeders Crown Elimination Open Trot – Top 8 advance to the Final

This elimination will send only one of the nine entrants to the sidelines due to two horses already getting byes into the final.

Mohawk Park shipper (8) LOGAN PARK couldn’t be any sharper and McNair won’t be shy to fire him to the front from out there. He might lead all the way at a square price.

Race 13 – Breeders Crown Elimination 3YO Pacing Colts and Geldings– Top 3 advance to the Final

5-6-7-4

(5) REDWOOD HANOVER gets a trainer and driver change to Dunn and post relief. I’ll take a swing with him at a price.

Race 14 – Breeders Crown Elimination 3YO Pacing Colts and Geldings– Top 3 advance to the Final

7-5-2-3

(7) CANNIBAL has only three losses this year and he comes into the Crown elim hot. He has a big shot tonight.

Race 15 – 3-2-5-10

This is a good spot for sophomore (3) ALWAYS FLOATING, who should offer a good price; value play.
